Can I Bring Someone With Me to My Appointment?

Yes, feel free to bring someone along if you'd like! At first, we will meet with you personally to give you the privacy you need for the intake process, then your friend (or whoever is with you) will be able to join you later in the appointment.

Are Your Services Free?

Yes, all of our pregnancy services and resources are free to every client. We know finances can be a struggle and we are here to help.

When Should I Take A Pregnancy Test?

The best time to take a pregnancy test is at least one day after your missed period for the most accurate results. If you still think you’re pregnant after receiving a negative test result, try taking another test one week after your missed period.

Why Do I Need An Ultrasound?

We recommend an ultrasound as it’s vital to safeguarding your health. An ultrasound is needed to confirm your pregnancy. An ultrasound will reveal three important factors of your pregnancy:

  1. The location of the pregnancy (if it’s within your uterus or not)
  2. The gestational age (how far along you are)
  3. Confirms if it’s a viable pregnancy or not (if it has a heartbeat & is progressing)

We can potentially offer you a limited obstetrical ultrasound after you receive a positive pregnancy test with us.

Could I Have An STI?

Think you have a potential STI? Or maybe your partner told you he contracted an STI. Untreated STIs can lead to health complications like miscarriage, birth defects, infertility, and PID (pelvic inflammatory disease). Not all STIs display symptoms, but people may experience:

  • Painful urination
  • Lower abdominal pain
  • Pain during sexual intercourse
  • Unusual vaginal bleeding
  • Sore, swollen lymph nodes
  • Unusual discharge

Are you sexually active and worried you may have an STI? Testing is important to protecting your health and preventing further infection or passing to a partner. We offer free STI testing and treatment at Brazos Pregnancy Center.
